Large furnaces are non-tilting in type and use the bottom pouring method to take out molten metal through the tap hole. When the tap hole needs to be opened, it is done with the help of a High-Frequency Induction Welded Low Carbon/Mild Steel Tube, which can sustain 750 PSI pressure without leakage. These pipes are available in sizes like 8mm, 15mm NB, or 25mm NB and are used to inject oxygen at high pressure into tap holes to allow molten metal to flow.

Nominal Bore (NB) is not the same as the outer diameter (OD). It is a nomenclature used to classify pipes as per Indian Standards (IS: 1239/10577). The pipes are threaded at both ends or one end, and the OD cannot vary beyond a specified range.

Our MS Plain Lancing Pipes are ERW LC (Low Carbon) pipes, cold-drawn to the required size. They have higher tensile strength, ensuring they do not bend easily during lancing. The edges are prepared as per customer requirements, and the ends can be plain or threaded (BSPT standards). Threaded pipes come with an M.S socket at one end and a PVC cap at the other.
